Windows XP Folder Locations

Reference Document: Windows XP User and All-User profile locations.

Required Windows Explorer Changes:
Many of the folders described are hidden. Make these changes in Windows Explorer to expose them.

In Windows Explorer,

A. Select top-tool-bar button "Organize", Layout
Check [x] Menu Bar (this turns on the File-Edit-View menus).

B. Select top-menu Tools, Folder Options, View and make these new selections:

[x] Show hidden files and folders
[ ] Hide extensions for known file types (uncheck)
[ ] Hide protected operating system files (uncheck)

C. Click "Apply"; then click "Apply to Folders" Click OK


Folder Locations:

All Users Desktop
 XP: Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop

All Users Start Menu ("above the line") 

 XP: Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu

All Users Programs ("All Programs")
XP: Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs


Alll Users Send To Menu
XP: (none, see Default Users and Users)


All Users Documents

XP: Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents
 
All Users Favorites
XP: Documents and Settings\All Users\Favorites

All Users Templates
XP: Documents and Settings\All Users\Templates

Default User Profile folder for new accounts:
